English Unplugged Jaén — Writing Unplugged Application

1. Who we are
This application ("Writing Unplugged") is operated by English Unplugged Jaén, Jaén, Spain ("we", "us"). Contact: espooner08@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect and why
When you register as an independent student we collect your name and email address, and optionally your city, language school, and academic institution. We process this data to create and manage your account, send you your access code by email, allow your writing to be corrected by our AI tool, and show you a history of your corrections.
3. AI processing of your writing
When you submit a piece of writing, it is sent to Anthropic, Inc. (USA) for AI-assisted error detection. By using this app you consent to this transfer. Anthropic processes the text only to generate corrections and does not retain or use it for any other purpose. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com.
4. Email delivery
Access codes and notifications are delivered via EmailJS (USA). Your email address is transmitted solely for the purpose of sending these messages.
5. Data hosting
Your account data is stored on Supabase (USA) with servers in the EU region. The app is hosted on Hostinger servers in the EU.
6. Data retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing espooner08@gmail.com. We will delete your account and all associated writing within 30 days of your request.
7. Your rights (GDPR / LOPD-GDD)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and the Spanish Organic Law on Data Protection (LO 3/2018), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at espooner08@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD — www.aepd.es).
8. Minors
If you are under 14 years of age, you must obtain consent from a parent or guardian before registering. By registering you confirm that you are 14 or older, or that a parent or guardian has consented on your behalf.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email.
